After exposing himself as Iron Man to the world, billionaire playboy inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) has made himself vulnerable. Under increasing pressure from the US government, press and public alike to share the technology used in the Iron Man suit in order to turn into a super weapon for the military. Naturally Stark isn’t so keen…so the government become complicit in a plan to duplicate the suit with the assistance of Stark’s corporate archrival Justin Hammer (the uber talented Sam Rockwell).Meanwhile a new and formidable nemesis, in the form of Whiplash (played by Mickey Rourke, who appears to be relishing the role) is rising to challenge Stark on his own terms. It’s not long before he’s hooked up with Hammer and both conspire to bring Iron Man down.
We're hopeful it follows the Spiderman franchise model in that the sequel is the better film. With such a bad ass trailer it certainly looks that way. Here's hoping!
Iron Man is released in the UK on 30th April.

Batting first, NZ reached a huge score of 214 belting Aussie bowlers all around the park. Australians, as always, came out all guns blazing with Haddin, Clark and White scoring 47, 67 and 64 at a brisk pace. The match ended in a tie when Australia managed same score as NZ in their 20 overs. In the one over eliminator Australia could only manage 6 runs with some brilliant bowling by Tim Southee. NZ scored 9 runs of 4 balls and won the match by super over.

WEST RICHLAND, WA (10/09/2007)
Guinness World RecordsTM verified today that Shelby SuperCars’ (SSC) Ultimate Aero is officially the "Fastest Production Car" in the world. This is the first time the production speed record title has been held by a United States auto manufacturer since the Ford GT40 claimed the record in 1967. Guinness’ strict testing procedure required the car to drive down the course, turn around, and make a second pass in the opposite direction within one hour. The vehicle’s official "top speed" was then calculated by averaging the top speeds of each pass in order to negate any favorable road or weather conditions. Driver Chuck Bigelow, 71, drove SSC’s Ultimate Aero on a stretch of highway 221, clocking 414.31 kph (257.44 mph) on the first pass and 410.24 kph (254.91 mph) on the second pass to yield an official record speed of 412.28 kph (256.18 mph). From data presented by Dewetron’s world-renowned data acquisition system, Guinness officials verified the official speed to be .52 kph (.32 mph) faster than SSC had originally noted. This breaks the current official record held by the Koenigsegg CCR at 388 kph by 24.28 kph (15.09 mph) and the Bugatti Veyron's unofficial speed of 408.47 kph by 5.84 kph (3.63 mph).Engineering a production car capable of speeds in excess of 250 mph is truly a significant task. In order to fit the definition of a production car, the vehicle must use pump gas and conform to all DOT/EPA regulations, among which include emissions and safety. These restrictions not only make it difficult but very impressive for production cars to produce such high performance figures. Finding a testing site was another obstacle that SSC encountered, eventually forcing the company to prove their claim on a two-lane road in Washington State's farming country. It has been decades since testing has been conducted on public roads, where factors such as wind and uneven road surfaces add complexities unknown to dedicated test tracks. Although SSC claims the Ultimate Aero's true top speed potential was not reached due to the limited length of road available to accelerate (2.5 miles), they feel that there is no better way to show the true limits of a production car than by testing it on the public roads for which it is intended. Nevertheless, SSC is currently speaking with a media source that is trying to organize a super car event at a very well known testing track overseas.
Jerod Shelby made a statement "Since the Mclaren F1, the Koenigsegg CCR, and the Bugatti Veyron all had a luxury that SSC hasn't had yet, we look forward to the day we can test the Ultimate Aero's true top speed capability in a controlled environment with a near perfect surface, as our predecessors did. We feel that we have safely left 6-10 mph on the table for when that day comes." To put the Ultimate Aero's acceleration into perspective; if the Aero enters the straight at Ehra – Lessien at the same speed the Veyron did, it would have enough room to accelerate to 255 mph, brake to a stop and still have 1.7 miles left of straightaway.
With 1183 bhp and 1094 ft-lbs of torque, the Ultimate Aero produces more emissions-legal horsepower than any other production automobile in the world (another Guinness World RecordTM for which SSC is currently applying). Despite being designed to run at redline for extended periods of time, the Ultimate Aero remains remarkably drivable. The proprietary twin-turbo V8 power plant retains excellent idle characteristics, and thanks to a drag coefficient of just .357, Langley Full Scale Wind Tunnel testing calculates the vehicle to be aerodynamically stable to speeds up to 273 mph. Featuring all the amenities found in a luxury sedan, the supple leather/suede interior is highlighted by custom Recaro seats, a 10 speaker premium system, DVD/navigation/backup camera, and a cab-controlled lift that raises the front an extra four inches to navigate road hazards. Shelby SuperCars would like to especially thank Michelin for providing technical support during testing; the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s provided remarkable performance most notability for withstanding many miles at speeds from 200 mph – 257 mph on public roads with little to no wear.
Additionally, this weekend October 14th from 12pm-2pm PST Jerod Shelby will be participating in Microsoft XBOX's Live event and will be racing the SSC Ultimate Aero against all worthy gamers!

Part of the lure to a dualbook like the eDGe is that it's got so many features—but it sounds like enTourage has been too generous here, with Laptop pointing out that "it's overkill for consumers mainly interested in surfing the Web, or simply reading eBooks."
There are only 200,000 titles in enTourage's ebook store, with only around half of them being best-sellers. It does have access to over 1 million of the Google Books, but there are no newspapers or magazines available just yet either.
Ultimately, Laptop seemed pleased with the dualbook, awarding it three out of five stars, but slight issues with the resistive touchscreen, fast-draining battery, and limited app store options made them conclude it's probably best to wait until the next version—or at least until enTourage has a more polished offering. Tendulkar, who turns 37 in April, smashed the first-ever double century in one-day international cricket on Wednesday, pounding the South African bowlers with 25 boundaries and three sixes.
Tendulkar's landmark dominated the front pages of leading newspapers, even overshadowing India-Pakistan diplomatic talks.
Immortal at 200", screamed a banner headline in the Times of India, while the Indian Express ran a half-page photo of a celebrating Tendulkar with the word "God!" A similar front-page photo in the Hindustan Times, headlined "200 not out", was followed by an appreciation by Tendulkar's former team-mate and bowling great Anil Kumble.
"The way he celebrated when he reached his 200 epitomised the man's persona," Kumble, an ex-India captain, wrote.
"There were no running laps around the field, no aggressive gestures, nothing over-the-top.
"He did what he always does. Raised both his arms, closed his eyes for a moment and quietly acknowledged it had been done.
"If the youngsters in the team can take even 10 percent of what he does, they will be better cricketers for it."
The Times of India highlighted the veteran's scintillating form in the last 12 months, during which he has hit 10 international centuries, including six in Test cricket.
"Treasure this new, improved Tendulkar," the paper said. "He is, by far, still India's most valuable player, and will remain so till he decides to call it quits."
Tendulkar, who made his debut in 1989, has scored 13,447 runs with 47 hundreds in 166 Tests, and 17,598 runs with 46 centuries in 442 one-day matches.
Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar rated Tendulkar over legendary Australian Don Bradman, saying the Mumbai man was the "greatest batsman the game has ever seen."
Newspapers highlighted Australian spin legend Shane Warne's tweets as he followed the knock of one of his close friends.
"Nervous for my good friend Sachin," Warne posted as Tendulkar neared his double century.
"Come on Sachin, my friend, get your 200. World record to please! you deserve it."
Once achieved, Warne said: "Yes, yes, yes! Well done Sachin my friend. Congrats and well done! Awesome."
The Hindustan Times cricket correspondent wrote: "It's never a good idea to try and speak for a whole nation. But on Wednesday it was a risk worth taking.
"To Sachin Tendulkar, on whom more words have been written than any other cricketer, including Sir Donald Bradman, two words will suffice: Thank you."
The pavilion at the Roop Singh stadium in Gwalior where Tendulkar achieved the feat will be named after him, the Press Trust of India reported.
The chief minister of Madhya Pradesh state, where Gwalior is located, also announced that one of the main roads in the town will be named after Tendulkar, PTI said.
